Alison Clarke

My
name is Alison Clarke. I am a
poet, writer, children’s author, student, and E.S.L. teacher.
I have been writing since elementary school, and my passion for the
written word has not disappeared since.
I love to learn, therefore, going to grad school is a natural
progression for me. Learning
is wonderful for its own sake, as well as sometimes inspiring poetry.
I learn inside and outside the classroom.
Life is also a good teacher.
I am a two-time cancer survivor, and two dollars from every book
and CD set goes to the Cross Cancer Institute.
Here, the staff is compassionate, caring, and empathetic with all
of their patients. I never
felt sad going there, the pink pastel walls, the blue doors, all of the
bright colours, and lighting never made me feel in a clinical, sterile
environment. Having conquered
cancer twice, Hodgkin’s disease, I live every day to the fullest.
I do only what gives me joy: never
again do I want to feel trapped, like Eli in my story.
If you buy Eli, or any of my poetry CD’s, you will experience a
journey that is unforgettable.
Embrace life, you never know what
tomorrow may bring.
